Suraya Al-Attas on Saturday: Our veterans deserve more respect
In theory, IKON Malaysia sounded like a good idea.
-Opinion, good for her maybe bad for others.
Sounded like a fine plan.
-Opinion, others might said that it is not a fine plan, it's arguable.
The very green stars of Akademi Fantasia like Mawi, Adam AF2 and Farah AF2 standing side by side with the likes of Zainal Abidin, Awie, Ella...
-Readers might not agree with the author with the word very because for them the stars are not consider as very green stars anymore.
And if that was not laughable enough, we were told that judging was to be 100 per cent SMS voting.
-Fact, we can refer to the organiser of the competition, IKON.
Although an official announcement has yet to be made, it is learned that the new system would see a panel of professional judges responsible for 70 per cent of the score, while 30 per cent would be from SMS voting.
-Fact, it can be referred with the IKON, the organiser of the competition.
While Zainal might have been a tad harsh in his criticism of the young stars...
-Opinion, we don't know if he really have been a tad harsh or maybe it is actually a lot. the author also state the word might means she is not sure about that.
The industry has been waiting a long time to find a way to market our artistes outside Malaysia
-Opinion. It's arguable, for others it might not a long time yet.
The hard part is always to get something going.
-Opinion, because other people might think it is easy.
"The intention (of IKON Malaysia) is noble.
-it's the autor opinion, because some people may not agree with this.
But the organisers’ original idea of leaving the fate of the contestants solely in the hands of the public is wrong!
-Opinion, some people maight agree with the idea, it's an arguable argument.
I can’t imagine how they could think that it was a good idea.
-Opinion, the authors assumed people think it's a good idea while it may not.
If you ask me what was the best thing that happened to the industry, I would say it was Mawi.
-Opinion, readers may not agree with her.
But he was also the worst thing that happened to the industry."
-Opinion because readers can also say he is in the opposite, it's an arguable statement.
It’s bad enough that the young stars have no respect for their seniors .
-Opinion, her evaluation can be different to other people.
If, say, Bono (of U2), a huge name in the music world, competed for a Grammy with (Sir) Paul McCartney and won, he would probably be humbled because the former Beatle is a legend in the industry.
-Opinion, it's her beliefs that she said Bono is a huge name and assumed he was humbled when he won.
In our industry, some young artistes — particularly those created by reality shows — who win awards actually think they are the best thing to happen to the industry.
-Opinion, the artistes might not think that thay are best. It's just her estimations. Fact, who win awards; we can refer to the sources involved.
Guess I was wrong.
-Opinion, readers might think she is right.
God knows, after more than five years of reality TV, we have more than enough young artistes to feature.
-Opinion, the statement is her estimation, other people may not agree with her.
It may not do anything to the industry but it would at least be fun to watch... and far less painful than watching veterans of the music industry being "thrashed" by their juniors.
-Opinion, this statement shows her impressions.

TSL012Please go to the following link about gender differences in road fatality.
Draw one or more conclusions on each graph and table (except the table on Passenger vehicle occupant deaths per 100,000 people by gender, 1975-2005) , i.e. analyze each table and graph to detect some general patterns that show the difference between male and female in terms of road accidents.
Also, look at one or two tables and make one or more inferences that can be supported by evidence (e.g. from the table for age differences, a safe inference to make is that there are more females aged 85 yrs + than there are males in the US since there are more female aged 85+ who died from accidents) and above than males which also means there more females that may.
There are all together two line graphs and 5 tables.
Motor vehicle deaths by gender, 1975-2005
Inference: Motor vehicle deaths by female are lower then male because there are not many female who holding the motor vehicle license.
Conclusion: Motor vehicle deaths by male are higher than female.
From 1976 male motor vehicle crash deaths have gone up until almost 38,000 and gone down on 1981 until 30,000 on 1984. From 1992 male motor vehicle crash deaths have risen slowly.
Passenger vehicle occupant deaths per 100,000 people per gender, 1975-2005
Inference: The number of deaths is decreased through 2005 because of the effort and campaign held by the government. male involved in death higher than female because of the lack of awareness towards their own safety. Male are more likely to speed and enjoy on the road without realizing the danger.
Conclusion: Male passenger vehicle occupant deaths are higher than female.
From the number of 2,000,000 people on 1975, it has decreased to 1,500,000 people on 2005. Male passenger vehicle occupant deaths decreased on 1980, 2,300,000 to 1700000 on 1983.Female passenger vehicle occupant deaths are having slightly increased and decreased trough 2005.
Fatal passenger vehicle crash involvements per 100 million milestraveled by driver age and gender, April 2001–March 2002
Inference: The highest crash involvement is by the age 30-59 because they are the majority of drivers on the road today. Male create higher crash involvement seems they are the majority drivers today.
Conclusion: Male drive more miles than female. Crash involvements by male are higher than female. The highest crash involvement for both male and female are by the age of 30-59. The least crash involvement for both male and female are by the age 60-69.
Estimated number and percent of fatally injured passenger vehicle drivers with BACs ≥0.08 percent, 1982-2005
Inference: There are more male who fatally injured with BACs ≥0.08 percent because male are more likely to drink and drive.
Conclusion: The number of both male and female fatally injured are slowly decreased through 2005. The number of male fatally injured with BACs ≥ 0.08 is thrice times and more than female.
